Sunblock & Body Lotion

We went to Adelaide in Jan 2010, the Aussie summer weather was hot and dry.

After 2 days of walking on the streets, my hubby complained that his skin was cracking due to the dry weather.   I told him to apply my body lotion on his skin for moisturizing and preventing more skin cracking.  So, he took my advice and started to apply lotion to his whole body.

The next day, as usual, before going out for sightseeing, I was doing my routine applying all sorts of necessary stuff such as lotion lah, moisturizer lah, etc on my face.  When came to sunblock, I realized the tube is almost empty?  Eh… strange?  I remembered I brought quite a full tube.

Looking at my hubby who was checking on his cracking skin and complaining still painful, I asked him, “Which lotion did you use last night?”

Hubby, “The brown colour tube.”

l cried, “Didn’t you check the wording before you used it.  That’s my SUNBLOCK!!!  Do you know how expensive is this tube? And do you have to use almost 1 full tube for 1 time!!???”

Hubby, “Huh? Sunblock ah? Heehee… How do I know woh? You told me that one on the table mah.  I just grabbed one that looks like lotion lah.  No wonder I don’t feel any effect at all :D.” Didn’t feel sorry at all and still laughing!!

I was speechless.…..

Does this look like a body lotion?

My Valentine

On this Valentine’s Day, I am going to write about a very special person to me.

I met this person back in 1995, I was a secretary then in this company.  One day, my HR colleague who was sitting beside me told me that there’d be a Chinese lawyer joining our company, quite good looking and the most exciting thing was he was still single :D.   Just like all other single girls, I was  kind of “looking forward” to see this new colleague although I didn’t like lawyers at all because I thought they were all cunning and very arrogant.

On that particular day, my HR colleague brought in this guy, introduced him to me.  Inside my heart I told myself, “Ah…. not bad looking, but a bit short, definitely not my cup of tea :D.”  To be honest, my dream guy was 6’ tall with good looking face.

This new colleague was arranged to be seated in the room behind me.  After knowing him, I started to change my view towards lawyers…. At least there was one nice lawyer.  My boring secretary’s life became colourful after he joined the company :).

6 months later, I was so hesitated whether to go out with him “officially” or not because he was really not my cup of tea although he is a super nice guy and a wonderful valentine.  My dream was to be able to use my 2 hands to hug my boyfriend around his neck and hang myself onto his body whenever we kiss.  But I see this guy “eye to eye” :(.  Finally, I made my decision based on my girlfriend, Priscilla’s advice, “Why is his height so important to you?  Anyway, when lying down, everybody is the same. ”.  Thanks, Priscilla, you are so right :D.

4 years later, I married a lawyer and I see my husband “eye to eye” :D  No regrets coz I think my husband is the funniest guy in the world and I am the luckiest person to have him coloring my every normal day :D

My Valentine's Day cards collection - We don't really celebrate Valentine's Day coz everyday is Valentine's day if we are happy together.  We like to buy cards for each other.

I think he must be loving this card so much that he bought me the same card twice :D

My valentine - better looking 16 years ago :D

On this Valentine’s Day, I want to dedicate my favorite love song to my husband :D  I can so imagine him frowns and gives me “rolled-eyes” coz this song irritates him :D hahaha!!! But I don’t care.  We must share everything in life :D.

Kids Magnet

One day, I saw my friend’s Facebook status “iPhone 4 is a fantastic tool to keep kids busy #babysitting” which I totally agree with.  Just look at my girl…

Shu Shu, I want to play Farting Cat :)

Daddy, please don't disturb me, I know how to operate this.
Daddy, I show you how to play Fruit Ninja.
The boys, "Why is this girl sitting on our daddy's lap?"
Eve, your mummy's phone got Angry Birds or not?
iPhone iPhone!! We want to play!!!
Mummy... I don't care, I want Talking Hippo, buy buy buy!!
Daddy, look! The birds and pigs are bigger here!!
My girl, she is 2 year old and she is not a super friendly kid. Most of the time when our friends talk to her, she won’t give a damn.  However, if you happen to carry an iPhone, she will become your “close friend” instantly :)

One day, my brother-in-law brought an iPad to our house, she was so happy to see the “big iPone”, rushed to him, hugged him and sat on his lap immediately.  Both of them became BFF since then :D

I must admit that Jobs has done a great job on inventing the cool gadget.  It’s a good tool for babysitting.  However, there are pros and cons based on my personal experience.

Pros
  • Yes! You can really stop them from running around for maybe 20 mins to half an hour.
  • It’s highly interactive because of the touch screen.  Kids just love it!
  • Fun and fast learning with educational apps.
  • Motor skills training perhaps (how fast they can cut the fruits and how good they can control the birds flying :D)?

Cons
  • They always fight if you have only 1 iPhone but have more than 1 kid.
  • They can really sit there for more than half an hour with their eyes getting closer and closer to the screen.  Is it bad for the eyes?
  • Have to always stand by charger, coz they will play and play till your batt goes low.
  • They won’t let you pick up incoming calls while they are playing with it.  If you insist, they will cry and roll on the floor.
  • They may accidentally delete your data or apps.  They won’t tell you, you have to discover it yourself.
  • When they play other app on your friends’ iPhone, and if they like it so much and they can’t find the same app on your phone, they will cry non-stop.  You have no choice but to pay for the app to stop the crying.
  • Whenever they don’t know how to play the game, they will scream for your help.  Ended up you can’t do your own things coz need to sit beside to guide them play.
  • Need to hide whenever using the phone, coz kids will just highjack it.
So, is it good idea to introduce iPhone to your kids?  I wonder when my girl will demand for a “big iPhone” :D

Think Twice When You Name Your Brands :)

When my previous company, MHD launched a new single malt named “Glenmorangie” a few years ago, many customers (mostly Chinese educated) and even the company sales representatives were having difficulties in pronouncing the brand name.  I still remember the brand manager had to educate everybody how to pronounce the brand name correctly during meetings :D.

Brand manager, “Let’s pronounce the name together – ‘Glen-Morrun-Jee’.”
People, “...... (Cantonese :  geng mou yan ji – meaning : worry nobody knows).”
Brand manager, “NO! Glen-Morrun-Jee’.”
People, “Huh? 惊无? (Cantonese : geng mou ngan ji – meaning: worry no money)”

To make things worse, this particular brand manager also handled another vodka brand called “Belvedere”.  So, he introduced himself as “brand manager of Glenmorangie and Belvedere”. Some Chinese customers commented, “乜话? 惊无人人屌 ? (Cantonese: me wa? geng mou yan ji bei yan diu? – direct translation: What? Worry nobody knows that fucked by people?  My poor ex-colleague :D.

A few years back, I was watching the Osim iGallop TVC together with one of my friends.  We look at each other and said, “No wonder it’s called Obscene iGallop.”

There are many other funny brand names that we heard since young such as:
  •          Kanebo – means fuck your mother in Hokkien
  •          Proton Saga –笨蛋傻 means stupid fool in Mandarin
  •          Toshiba –倒屎 means waste disposal in Cantonese
  •          Kickapoo - 契家 means mistress in Cantonese
  •          Goon Institute – stupid people institute??
Think twice and in many other languages when you name your brands :D.

Flasher

When I was about 12 year old I liked to cycle everywhere I go.  One afternoon, on the way back home from school, I went through a back lane of a roll of shops on my bicycle.  Suddenly a car drove by  me and the driver was trying to stop me for help.  I was a very helpful person since young, so I stopped my bicycle.  I saw an uncle in his late 40s sitting in the driver seat.  He was holding a letter and showing me an address on the letter to ask for direction.  I got near to his side window to look at the address.  I was concentrating on the address, but  realized that I couldn’t help coz the address was in Cheras while we were at Ampang.  I didn’t think too much at that point of time…. But, wait a minute, at the corner of my eye, I thought I saw something that I didn’t really know how to describe.  Familiar? Not really, I think  I have seen something like that before but a very small version… I was not sure… Ugly?  Definitely, but why wasn’t this uncle cover it properly?  Messy?  Ya, I thought it was quite messy.  It looked like a lump of swollen meat, a bit like the chee cheong fun’s type of spring roll and fish balls (but the swollen version), looked at the size, it could be painful.  Hmm… I thought this uncle was sick…. There were a lot of question marks in my head but I calmed myself down, pretended l didn’t see anything and told the uncle “Sorry, I can’t help.”

I continued cycling home with thousands of question marks in my head.

That evening I told my mum, “Mum, this afternoon one uncle asked me for direction.  I saw him sitting in the car with his “down there” exposed.  His “down there” was very big and swollen until he couldn’t zip his pants.  I think he is sick, so poor thing.”  My mum looked at me with her jaw dropped.  “My dear, this uncle is not physically sick, he is mentally sick!!”

Hahaha!!! Stupid flasher got a wrong target, this 12 year old is too innocent to understand or scare of his penis :D  I am sure he felt unsatisfied and incomplete after that incident.
