Armani’s Hot and Steamy Ads

I am neither a soccer nor tennis fan but, I do know who Cristiano Ronaldo is. To me, he used to be just another footballer with a good looking face.  I have changed my mind after watching him stripping down in last year’s Emporio Armani Men’s Underwear and Armani Jeans ad campaign - “Housekeeping”.  Ronaldo was immediately listed in my hottest hunks list :D.  Those toned abs and his hot body have got me watched the video again and again :p.

Just a few days ago, l saw another new face for Emporio Armani Spring/Summer 2011 campaign.  I am totally not a tennis fan, only after seeing the steamy hot guy in the ad, I learned that Rafael Nadal, the 24 YO Spanish tennis pro is currently ranked No. 1 tennis player in the world (ah… shallow me :D).  WOW!! Didn’t realize that tennis player can be so damn HOT!! :D

Apparently Nadal is the third athlete that was hand-picked by Emporio Armani to be its spokemodels after David Beckham (sorry, Beckham, you are hot too but I am in my midlife and I tend to look at guys below 30 YO :p) and Cristiano Ronaldo.  I wonder who will be next?  :) :)

Those killer abs

and killer smile :)

The Theory of Gravity

I used to live in a neighborhood with many stray dogs running around.  I didn’t do this on purpose – but dogs just like to stroll in front of me.  So happen most of them were MALE dogs and they were exposing their SACKS!!  I noticed some really old dogs with their sacks hanging at the back almost touching the ground, the scene triggered me to think of Newton’s theory of Universal Gravitation.

That’s why women need supporting bras to reduce the gravity effect.

To all my male friends who like to wear boxers, think of the old dogs with saggy balls and imagine what will happen after 50 years of gravity effect? :D

Snake & Bomba

About three years ago, one particular evening, Peter, Kar Wai and I were chilling at home.  At about 1am,  I was hungry, so I decided to cook Maggi Mee.

When I was about to unlock the grill door from kitchen to backyard (our gas stove is outside at the backyard), I saw something unfamiliar slithering along the door grill to the window frame.  I was taken aback and to my horror, I saw a snake about three feet long, yellow with black spots lying at our window frame.  I immediately shut the door and alerted the two men in the living hall.

After a short discussion, we decided to call the Bomba for help.  I was still hungry, I changed to cook my Maggi using microwave oven instead which is placed inside the kitchen. Kar Wai was assigned to keep an eye on the snake in order to keep track on its’ movement, while Peter called the Bomba.

Peter, “Hello, ini bomba ke?”
Bomba, “Ya, apa hal?”
Peter, “Rumah saya ada ular lah.  Boleh tolong tangkap?”
Bomba, “Boleh. Alamat mana?”
Peter, “Bangsar, Jalan LP.  Tapi ular kecil sahaja, tak payah ramai orang, dua, tiga orang datang cukup lah.”
Bomba, “Okie.”

20 minutes later, we heard a loud siren and a huge fire engine stopped right in front of our house.  Luckily Peter managed to rush out on time to stop it from waking up the neighbours. When the fire engine door opened, 12 fully geared fire fighters jumped down and marched into our house.  WOW!! That was totally unexpected. We wanted to keep it “low profile” coz it was quite embarrassing :D.

Anyway, we showed them the location of the snake and they caught it “live” easily.  They told us that was a young snake and the beautiful yellow bamboo trees at our backyard were the snakes’ favorite hangout.  I was quite worried, I asked them using my broken Bahasa, “Jika ibu papa ular datang how ah?” “You panggil kita lagi lah.”  Haha!! I love firemen from that moment onwards.  I can see how serious they were and the happiness showed on their face while they got the snake.  They left our house happily.  I wonder what they would do to the snake.

The fire fighters made a grand entrance to our house. A blur picture captured coz the scene was too grand, my hands shook :D

P/s : to call fire department in Malaysia, just dial 911.

All Seasons Welcome Hotel

My husband and I love travel.  The very first time we visited Melbourne was in year 2000.  We normally buy our own air tickets and book accommodation online everywhere we go.   I used to work more than 12 hours per day in my previous marketing job and my schedule was always packed.  So, I had to rely on my husband to do the online hotel checking and booking.  One day, I got back from work, he happily told me that tickets were ready and he got a hotel at a super fantastic location i.e. opposite of China Town (he loves to stay next to China Town or casino everywhere he goes :D) at a very good rate.  Great!! We can just pack and go :).

When we arrived at the hotel, I saw the signboard showing “All Seasons Welcome Hotel”.  “What a name?!” I told my hubby.  Hubby didn’t bother too much and was very happy with its location – city center and right opposite of China Town.  After checking in, only did we realize the bed was too small, the hotel was too old, it was not up to standard…. No wonder it was so cheap :D  Anyway, we were going to stay for 2 nights only.  It’s ok lah…. But I remember the hotel name for life.

Seven years later, we decided to revisit Melbourne.  I was still busy on my marketing job.  Again, hubby was assigned to do the hotel booking.  I specially told him, “Any reasonable hotel but please, no more All Seasons Welcome.”

One night, I got back and he happily told me that, “I booked a hotel at reasonable rate, near China Town too, but definitely not All Seasons Welcome :).  It’s called ‘Mercure’.”  “The name sounds cool.  Let’s pack and go then.”

When the taxi dropped us in front of Mercure Hotel, we looked at each other and said, “How come this hotel look so familiar one?”  Everything was the same as “All Seasons Welcome” except they changed the signboard to “Mercure”.  OMG…. We were back to the same hotel.  Hubby was laughing non-stop while I was giving him roll-eye. I guess it was fated.  However, they have upgraded the hotel.  We totally satisfied with the hotel stay during our second trip in Melbourne.
